The story so far...

So far this season the Chicago Bulls have posted their best start in almost twenty years. D-Rose isn't posting huge numbers like he was last season but he is providing efficient scoring for his team. Another highlight this year is the tendency of the reigning MVP to provide his teammates with scoring opportunities when defenses collapse to him. I must say this team looks polished compared to last year when most of the team collapsed in the Eastern Conference Finals. I don't blame anyone on that team, they had a great year, but I hope they can find a way to make it to the Finals this year. Let me know what you guys think of their new player.

Game 5 breakdown

The Bulls had this game in their pocket and let the thugs on the Heat steal it right out from under them. A lot of foul calls for the Heat and none for the Bulls make the difference down the stretch. I am definitely not a Lebron fan, he plays dirty and fouls constantly but because he is a "Star" he gets away with it. People I have talked to say they want Lebron to win because of all the struggles Lebron has had in this league...what struggles? Because he doesn't have a championship he has struggled? Well I hope them refs were paid a large bounty to call such a horrible series.

Stern vs. Cuban

We all know that Commissioner Stern doesn't like Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, would he go so far as to fix the Eastern Conference Finals in order to make sure the Mavericks don't win the NBA Finals? I think so, this year marked by the thought of the strike next year, Stern will be looking for the best money making match-up for this years finals. Stern of course wants these two teams to play because of the 2006 finals when the Heat beat the Mavericks. But why wouldn't he want the Bulls instead? Because of the supposed history between these two teams, the Heat beating the Mavericks in the 2006 finals. Would the fans be more interested in a Bulls vs Mavericks match-up? I think so. Let me know what you think.

Look ahead to a possible comeback...

If the bulls want to get back into the series, they must find a way to get their players to knock down some shots. The bulls are scoring a lot in the paint but are missing just about as many. The players (Boozer and Noah) need to finish at the rim and get some of their tips to find the bottom of the basket. It's great getting offensive rebounds but if you don't convert then what was the point? Kyle Korver needs to be more efficient in his three point shooting, otherwise he is nothing but a liability for the bulls as his defense is atrocious. It's too bad that Asik is injured, he was one of the bright spots for the Bulls. Had Asik not needed stitches in game 2 and come out of the game, the Bulls might have won that game down the stretch. Unfortunately, the same goes for game 3 and into game 4. He breaks his leg and now one of the great bench players is no longer available, his absence leaves a deep hole for the Bulls. It all starts with game 5, will the  whistles go the Bulls way or will the officials decide to give the game to the Heat again? Let's hope the officials will penalize the Heat for beating on the MVP.

Game decided by the officials!

After a tough fought loss by the Bulls, it was easy to see that the Heat were being "pushed" to win by the officials. It doesn't take a genius to notice that when the MVP runs into the paint and three different people are swiping at him and he stumbles that someone has committed a foul. So......where's the whistle? I know that Stern would love to see a match-up between the Heat and Mavericks again, but come on, even a blind man could see that the Bulls are a better team and the whistles haven't gone their way all series. Is it just me or after the Bulls made the Heat look like high school basketball rejects in game 1, Stern had to do something to make sure the Heat made it to the finals. The only variable that Stern could control was the officiating. Sure, many of you could reason that the Bulls had several chances at the end of the game to win. But here is what I have to say to you...without the officials blowing their whistles to bail out the Heat, the game would have been a blowout much like game 1. Evidence of what I am saying, Lebron screams "I don't need no foul!" after traveling and making a layup.

Derrick Rose must find a way to get to the basket!

With the wall that Miami is putting in front of D-Rose, somehow the bulls need to clear the lane so he can do what he does best. We all can see that the pick and roll isn't working, D-Rose is being doubled so he ends up going nowhere. D-Rose needs to run in transition and not allow the Heat to get back and set up their defense. Or the Bulls need to run iso plays and allow D-Rose to make plays on his own, not bring the double team to him. Carlos Boozer needs to find a way to contain Posh Spice and not allow him to spin to the basket. Carlos in game 3 was pretty good, but his defense was horrible. Turf Toe or not he needs to get in the air and alter some of the shots the Heat are putting up. Deng needs to stop standing behind the 3-point arc and move without the ball, make Lebron chase him and not allow Lebron to cheat in the middle when D-Rose tries to pass the ball. Noah has to get up above Haslem and not allow him to tip the ball out, the Bulls are the best rebounding team in the league and are being out rebounded by a much smaller team. If the Bulls want to win tonight they need to get to the loose balls, have the MVP run in transition, and have Carlos and Noah play quality minutes without the foul troubles. GO BULLS!!
